During the early stages of researching and planning for our music video we needed to take in consideration about the target audience. For creating a music video, the target audience is a significant part to think about when creating a music video, CD Digipack and Music Magazine Advertisement. The demographics is a set of characteristics that describe the group of people. In the case of making a music video we had to consider the target audience who are willing to listen to watch the music video.
We started by researching on the 'typical' target audience for Matt Corby: These type of people are;
- Aged 16-25
- Mix of male and female
- Enjoys acoustic music
- Likes indie pop, acoustic and alternative music
Music Video:
From looking at out initial audience feedback before creating our music video we asked a person from our target audience these questions:
- How did you come across Matt Corby?
- How does his music make you feel?
- What stands out about Matt Corby's music videos?
- By seeing Matt Corby live have you seen the change in his music?
- What do you think about his album covers?
- have you seen any music magazines advertisements he has been in?
The purpose on asking a member of our target audience these questions is that we go a wider understanding of Matt Corby's music and what patterns are seen to be repeated in Matt Corby's music.
When asking for our audience feedback from our target audience from our 60 second pitch the feedback what we were given were shown to be positive. By doing this it allowed us to understand and see our target audience reaction to our ideas of create a music video for Matt Corby.
From asking for our target audience thoughts on Matt Corby himself and our ideas to adapt the video it allowed us to see an insight of their reactions and also give us ideas of what they thought we should include swell, as they are the people it would appeal to.
Once we posted our music video this is a comment which we got on feedback from our final music video.
CD Digipack
When creating our CD digipack, looking at previous and exciting products by not only Matt Corby, but similar artists of the same genre became a big part. We started by creating Mock Up of different ideas of CD Digipacks we had, then asked member from our target audience to give us feedback and tell us which one they thought would suit best for creating one for Matt Corby.

Each of these 3 DigiPack have a different theme. The first be 'Autumn Leaves'. The second being 'Summer Sunset'. the third bring 'Green Nature'. When asking our target audience which one they preferred, we created a tally to mark up which chose which.
From doing this tally it shown us clearly that after the 3 themes what we chosen to create a CD Digipack for Matt Corby that the one what our target audience thought would work best is the "Autumn leaves".

We asked our target audience what they liked best from all 3 CD Digipacks. This allowed us to use elements rom all Digipack and interpret them into one. From these results we went onto asking for feedback from our target audience to see what they thought. Their response allowed us to work and develop our ideas to fit and suit the appealing target audience.
Music Magazine Advertisement
When creating our music magazine advertisement we looked at what our target audience said about our CD DigiPack. At first we looked at different magazines within the same genre as Matt Corby.
When creating our Music Magazine we asked our target audience feedback on what they thought of our mock up magazine advertisements, before we went ahead and created the final product.
From the feedback what our Target Audience gave us in reference to our Magazine Advertisement. From this it allowed us to see the areas which worked and the areas which if we were to do it again, where we can improve. From the target audience knowing what our fist intentions was from creating the the music magazine, from seeing the stages within the making, it allowed us to have feedback along he way of the creation of the final product.
